We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible to understand and apply design standards, processes and tools, including Solidworks, NX9, Agile, Oracle system. This will be demonstrated by successfully completing two medium level complexity projects per week.

Impact You Will Make

• Design semiconductor test sockets, contactors, contact modules, housings, lids, actuators, alignment features and related assemblies by applying mechanical engineering principles.
• Review customer package drawings, device requirements, tester / handler interface information and application requirements to convert them into practical contactor design solutions.
• Develop 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, exploded views, BOMs and related engineering documentation.
• Apply GD&T, tolerance analysis, stack-up analysis and DFM / DFA principles to ensure robust, manufacturable and assembly-friendly designs.
• Perform design verification activities such as mechanical interference checks, contact force / deflection review, thermal considerations, reliability review and evaluation of prototype or production feedback.
• Conduct engineering studies, experiments or analysis to validate existing or alternate designs and prepare clear reports or recommendations when required.
• Support quotation and project planning activities by providing technical inputs, preliminary concepts, feasibility assessment and design effort estimation when required.
• Coordinate with Lead Engineers, Application Engineers, Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, suppliers and customers to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
• Support prototype build, production assembly, inspection, qualification and release activities, including review of mechanical and electrical test results where applicable.
• Investigate design, manufacturing, field or customer issues; identify root cause; recommend corrective actions; and implement design improvements through the appropriate engineering change process.
• Maintain accurate part numbers, BOMs, CAD models, drawings and product data in Agile / Oracle or other approved systems
• Contribute to engineering standards, templates, design rules, lessons learned, CAPA, RMA, 8D and other continuous improvement activities.
• Any other tasks as assigned by superior.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related engineering discipline.

• Work Experience: 3+ years experience in mechanical design, precision mechanical assemblies, semiconductor test hardware, contactors / test sockets, connectors or industry-related products. Experience with semiconductor test, sockets, contact modules or contactor product development is an advantage.

• Skills / Aptitude:

  • 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks; knowledge of NX is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Agile / Oracle or similar PLM / ERP systems.
  • Engineering drawing creation, GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining
  • Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational and prioritization skills.

• Ability to communicate in English with co-workers, customers and suppliers via email, phone and meetings.

• Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in design quality, cycle time, cost, manufacturability and documentation accuracy.

• Seek continuous improvement in own job processes, design methods, tools and communication routines.

• Provide accurate reporting, clear technical justification and timely project status updates.

• Engineering focused, with strong understanding of precision mechanical assemblies, engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, contactor interfaces and functional requirements.

• Quality focused, detail-oriented and accountable for releasing complete, accurate and revision-controlled design outputs.

• Good team player, open minded, customer focused and able to work effectively with international co-workers, customers and supplier.
