Mechanical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop customized automation machines, mechanical components, jigs & fixtures based on customer requirements.
• Develop 3D mechanical designs and detailed 2D engineering drawings using SolidWorks or other CAD software.
• Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM), technical drawings, specifications and design documentation for fabrication and assembly.
• Translate customer requirements into practical, reliable and cost-effective mechanical designs.
• Select suitable mechanical, pneumatic and automation components according to project requirements.
• Review and evaluate designs for functionality, manufacturability, assembly, safety and cost effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with electrical, programming, fabrication, assembly and project teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Provide technical support during machine assembly, testing, debugging and troubleshooting.
• Identify mechanical design issues and implement design modifications, corrective actions and improvements.
• Support machine installation, commissioning and customer buy-off when required.
• Ensure assigned design tasks and project deliverables are completed according to the project schedule and requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives to improve machine design, quality and reliability.

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; relevant experience in mechanical design or automation is an advantage.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks is required.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks or projects.
• Willing to travel locally or overseas when required.
