Mechanical Design Engineer

This position encompasses "build-to-print" commodities, with a primary focus on supplier qualification, supplier quality performance, localization project management, First Article Inspection (FAI) and Material value proposition (MVP).

Key responsibilities:

• Manage the supplier identification and qualification process activities
• Prepare engineering calculations, design change proposals, review customer drawings and technical specs, and propose design recommendations
• Analyze supplier quotes and bids
• Conduct part qualification and tooling qualification
• Participate in driving supplier quality performance management (e.g., DPPM, SQI)
• Document and maintain records of NPIs (FAI, PPAP documentations)
• Perform any other activities related to department requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or Materials engineering)
• 2-3 years of related experience in engineering, manufacturing, quality management and SCM discipline preferred or equivalent combination of experience
• Strong understanding of engineering and quality tools, including GD&T, DFM, FMEA, and GR&R
• Hands-on experience with sheet metal and machining processes, as well as understanding of secondary processes (e.g., plating, powder coating, anodizing)
• Proficiency in mechanical design software such as SolidWorks or Creo
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949/AS9100 quality management systems
• Familiarity with project management processes, alongside strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Willingness and ability to travel overseas as required by the role
• Ability to manage and build relationships with our China-based suppliers
