Mechanical Design Engineer

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed production CAD for the airframe from validated design geometry
• Build structural analysis models and work with an external consultant to validate key load cases through to sign-off
• Design composite mould tooling and own the layup/cure plan, in-house or via a subcontracted vendor
• Design launch/deployment mechanical interfaces as required by the program
• Own payload and subsystem integration design, including mounting and routing considerations
• Support structural testing and translate results into design updates

Required qualifications

• B.Tech in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 5+ years of composite structure design experience, including working knowledge of FEA tools
• Strong working proficiency in SolidWorks (required) and a structural FEA package (e.g. SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS, or equivalent)
• Practical understanding of composite manufacturing processes

Good to have

• Prior UAV or small-airframe composite structure experience
• Experience with dynamic/impulsive load cases
• Familiarity with common aerodynamic analysis tool outputs
