Location: Houston, TX – Full-Time, In-Person
Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annually
Experience: 2–4 years recommended

Gulfstream Container is a growing, family-owned manufacturer specializing in custom generator enclosures, fuel tanks, and complete power-generation packaging for mission-critical and industrial applications.

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Houston engineering team. This is a hands-on manufacturing environment, and we need someone who can take a design from concept through detailed shop drawings that our fabrication and production teams can build from.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed shop and fabrication drawings for manufacturing
• Develop mechanical designs for generator enclosures, structural assemblies, fuel tank systems, platforms, plenums, and related fabricated components
• Produce accurate part, assembly, and manufacturing drawings
• Work closely with engineering, production, fabrication, and project management teams
• Review customer drawings and specifications and translate requirements into manufacturable designs
• Make drawing revisions based on production feedback and project requirements
• Assist with design improvements focused on manufacturability, quality, and efficiency
• Support projects throughout the manufacturing process and help resolve design-related issues on the shop floor

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of mechanical design experience recommended
• Strong AutoCAD experience is required
• Experience producing detailed shop, fabrication, or manufacturing drawings
• 3D modeling/design capabilities preferred
• Experience with fabricated metal products, structural assemblies, sheet metal, or similar manufacturing environments is highly preferred
• Manufacturing Engineers with strong mechanical design and drafting backgrounds are encouraged to apply
• Ability to understand how components will actually be fabricated, assembled, and installed
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple active projects

Position Details

This is a full-time, in-person position at our Houston, Texas operation. This is not a remote or hybrid role.

Gulfstream will provide the complete engineering workstation and software setup required for the position.

Salary Range: $70,000–$80,000, depending on experience and capabilities.
