Mechanical Design Engineer

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for tablet press and tablet press parts design. They should be able to multitask on a variety of projects in a positive and professional manner, with a strong ability to work in a fast paced, highly detailed and deadline driven environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Design new Tablet Press Machines and support the continuous improvement of the existing line
• Prepare layouts, drawings and designs according to engineering specifications
• Review engineering drawings and supporting documentation to verify adherence to standard practices
• Generate drawings per internal and customer specifications for quoting and manufacturing purposes
• Retrieve information from files and displays on computer, using required computer language.

Qualifications Qualifications and requirements

• Extensive work experience in mechanical/machine design and operations
• Experience in the design of new projects from concept to completion
• Knowledge of manufacturing practices or work experience in manufacturing
• Proficient in 3D CAD software- preferably Solidworks
• Experience in CMM and or CAM software
• Mechanical aptitude

Experience

• 2+ years with the criteria listed above

Physical Requirements

• Must have the ability to sit at a desk using a computer for 8 or more hours per day; stand, kneel, walk and bend as required throughout the work day to accomplish various tasks

Be able to lift, pull, push or carry various types of light weight items (approximately 1-10 pounds) and process accordingly.
