Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer (Mechanical) with 3–4 years of relevant experience in machine design, SPMs, industrial automation, or manufacturing equipment.

The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in SolidWorks 3D modelling, 2D drawings, fabrication and machining drawings, and should be able to work independently on mechanical design activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Decide the appropriate manufacturing sequence based on the application and design requirements of the part.
• Prepare fabrication drawings and machining drawings based on the manufacturing sequence.
• Apply company-standard tolerances and determine appropriate dimensional and geometric tolerances based on component application.
• Extract and verify mounting and interface dimensions from datasheets of gearboxes, bearings, slew rings, cylinders, LM rails, LM bearings, and other bought-out components.
• Develop and modify 3D models considering manufacturing and assembly constraints.
• Update corresponding 2D drawings with proper revisions whenever design changes are made.
• Perform verification of interface, mounting, and critical dimensions between various components.
• Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) for assemblies and child parts in the ERP system.
• Review past projects and engineering data to reuse proven designs, components, and design methodologies wherever applicable.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and other engineering teams to resolve design and manufacturing-related issues.
• Ensure designs are suitable for manufacturing, assembly, and installation.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modelling and 2D drawing.
• Good understanding of SolidWorks settings and configurations.
• Experience with Weldments, Cut Lists, and Multi-Body Part Modelling.
• Working experience with SolidWorks PDM.
• Good understanding of fabrication and machining processes.
• Knowledge of mounting and integration of:
• Gearboxes
• Bearings
• Slew Rings
• Hydraulic/Pneumatic Cylinders
• LM Rails
• LM Bearings
• Other mechanical components
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and dimensional requirements.
• Experience working with ERP systems and BOM management.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, component datasheets, and manufacturing requirements.
• Good problem-solving and coordination skills.

Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

• 3–4 years of relevant experience in:

• Industrial Automation
• Manufacturing Equipment
• Candidates should have approximately 3–4 years of hands-on SolidWorks experience.
