Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and bringing new concepts to life?

We are seeking a talented and adaptable Mechanical Design Engineer for a 3-month contract to support the development of innovative machinery and equipment. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments and can quickly translate ideas into practical, manufacturable solutions.

About the Role

Working within a highly skilled engineering team, you will contribute to the design and development of new mechanical products and equipment from concept through to detailed design. You'll play a key role in developing 3D models, creating manufacturing drawings, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

This position requires a versatile engineer who is comfortable working on entirely new product concepts and can adapt their design approach to meet evolving project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop innovative mechanical design concepts and solutions.
• Create high-quality 3D models using Autodesk Inventor.
• Translate design requirements into detailed engineering designs and manufacturing drawings.
• Assist in the development and refinement of concept models.
• Support product development activities from concept through to production.
• Ensure designs meet performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project stakeholders.
• Deliver design outputs within agreed project timelines.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent.
• 5+ years' experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and 3D modelling.
• Experience designing complex machinery, equipment, or mechanical systems.
• Proven ability to work independently and contribute as an experienced individual contributor.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly and work on new product development projects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
