What they need
- Lead and support mechanical design and R&D projects from concept to prototype and production.
- Develop 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models for new and existing products.
- Translate concepts, sketches and requirements into detailed mechanical designs.
- Design mechanical components, assemblies, structures and products according to project requirements.
- Conduct design modifications and improvements to enhance product functionality, durability, manufacturability and cost efficiency.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications and technical documentation.
- Select appropriate materials, components and manufacturing processes for product development.
- Conduct engineering calculations and basic design analysis where required.
- Develop and coordinate prototype fabrication and testing.
- Evaluate prototype performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Work closely with fabrication and production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
- Troubleshoot design, fabrication and product-related technical issues.
- Research new technologies, materials, components and manufacturing methods.
- Ensure proper control and documentation of design revisions and engineering changes.
- Perform other R&D and engineering-related duties as assigned.
