Job description

Siebener Automation & Solution is an industrial automation company based in Thripunithura, Ernakulam. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer to design Special Purpose Machines (SPM) and automation systems, from concept to the final manufacturing drawings. You will work closely with our design, fabrication and assembly teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design special purpose machines, automation systems, jigs and fixtures from customer requirements
• Create 3D models, assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings
• Select standard components such as bearings, pneumatic cylinders, linear guides, motors and fasteners
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and design documentation
• Apply GD&T and tolerance stack-up for fits and machining
• Review designs with the team and make changes based on feedback
• Support fabrication, assembly and commissioning, including site visits when needed
• Guide and review the work of junior designers

Requirements

• Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
• 2 to 5 years of experience in machine design, preferably SPM or automation
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Good understanding of GD&T, material selection and manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of pneumatics and standard mechanical components
• Ability to read and prepare engineering drawings
• Good communication skills and the ability to work to deadlines

Preferred

• Experience in conveyors, assembly machines, testing machines or robotic cells
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics
• Experience with design calculations and FEA
