Mechanical Design Engineer Trainee

About the Role

SaarthiX is looking for motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer Trainees who are interested in mechanical design, computer-aided design (CAD), and product development. This opportunity is designed for students and recent graduates who want to develop practical design skills, understand engineering drawings, and gain exposure to modern mechanical design tools and workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn and apply mechanical engineering design principles.
• Create and modify 2D engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Understand engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and geometric specifications.
• Assist with basic component design and product modelling tasks.
• Learn about materials, manufacturing processes, and design considerations.
• Review models and drawings for accuracy and consistency.
• Prepare technical drawings and maintain design documentation.
• Participate in practical design assignments and guided projects.
• Collaborate with team members to understand design requirements and improve solutions.

Required Skills

• Basic understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• Familiarity with engineering drawing concepts is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD tools is an advantage.
• Interest in 2D drafting, 3D modelling, and product design.
• Good spatial reasoning, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn design software and engineering workflows.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates currently pursuing the 3rd year or 4th year of B.Tech / B.E.
• Recent B.Tech / B.E. graduates with 0 years of professional experience.
• Preferred branches: Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Mechatronics.
• Diploma students in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines may also apply if they are currently pursuing the final eligible years of their program or are recent graduates.
• Candidates interested in CAD design, product development, or manufacturing design are encouraged to apply.
• Prior professional experience is not required.

What You Will Learn
