Mechanical Design Engineers & Drafters- EOI

We are actively seeking expressions of interest from experienced Mechanical Design Engineers and Drafters across the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and Hunter Valley regions.

With major projects and continued investment across heavy industry, mining, manufacturing and processing, exciting opportunities are emerging for Mechanical Design Engineers & Drafters across the Hunter region.

We’re working closely with leading regional businesses, OEMs and engineering consultancies on projects that offer the opportunity to work on complex equipment, innovative designs and diverse engineering challenges.

Sectors & Work Types

• Mining & Heavy Equipment: Materials handling systems, conveyors, crushers, fixed plant, and mobile equipment modifications.
• Manufacturing & OEM: Product development, custom machinery, sheet metal design, pressure vessels, and hydraulic/pneumatic layouts.
• Process & Piping: Process equipment, pumping systems, pipework layouts, and chute design.
• Specialised Fabrication: Workshop-ready detailed design, shop drawings, and fabrication packages.

Key Software & Technical Skills

• Primary Tools: SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or AutoCAD 3D.
• Standards: Strong understanding of Australian Drafting Standards (AS1100), materials selection, and manufacturing tolerances.
• Knowledge of FEA is highly regarded

What We Are Looking For

• Diploma / Certificate IV in Mechanical Engineering / Drafting, or equivalent hands-on trade experience with strong CAD capabilities.
• Proven background producing accurate, workshop-ready detailed manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly drawings.
