Mechanical Design Modeler (SolidWorks)

Key Responsibilities

• Design machine parts, assemblies, and complete machines using SolidWorks.
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) for manufacturing and procurement.
• Generate 2D drawings with GD&T, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Modify existing designs based on production and customer requirements.
• Support CNC programming using Mastercam.
• Coordinate with the production team during machine assembly and manufacturing.
• Work closely with the R&D team on new product development and design improvements.
• Select standard components such as bearings, motors, couplings, linear guides, ball screws, pneumatic and hydraulic components.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
• Maintain proper documentation of all design files and revisions.
• Troubleshoot design-related issues during manufacturing and assembly.
• Follow company design standards and engineering practices.

Required Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 27 years of experience in machine design (Freshers with excellent SolidWorks skills may also apply).

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of SolidWorks (Part, Assembly, Sheet Metal, Weldments, and Drawings).
• Good knowledge of Mastercam.
• Understanding of CNC machining and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Familiarity with engineering materials and manufacturing methods.
• Understanding of mechanical components such as bearings, shafts, gears, couplings, ball screws, and linear guides.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is an advantage.
• Ability to read and prepare engineering drawings.
