Mechanical Design Supervisor

Experienced Mechanical Design Supervisor to lead a team of mechanical designers supporting automotive manufacturing, automation, and production equipment projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, team leadership, and automotive manufacturing systems.

This role is responsible for overseeing design activities, ensuring quality and schedule performance, mentoring design personnel, and collaborating with customers, project managers, and engineering teams to deliver innovative automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of mechanical designers and engineers.
• Assign workloads, monitor progress, and ensure project deadlines are met.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to design staff.
• Coordinate with project management, controls engineering, manufacturing, and customers.
• Ensure compliance with customer standards, company procedures, and industry best practices.
• Support concept development, equipment design reviews, and customer presentations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to design processes and standards.
• Assist with resource planning, recruiting, and employee development activities.
• Support project launch activities, installation reviews, and issue resolution when required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university and five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience supporting Body Shop tooling
• 2 Years supervision experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Ford Motor Company experience Preferred
