MECHANICAL DESIGNER

About the role

The Mechanical Designer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and improving motorcycle parts, mechanical components, machines, tools, and related products. The position combines SolidWorks design, product development, and basic motorcycle technical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop motorcycle parts and mechanical components using SolidWorks or other software.
• Prepare and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), specifications, and other technical documents.
• Review customer and market requirements and convert them into practical and manufacturable designs.
• Select appropriate materials and standard mechanical components based on design requirements.
• Conduct design revisions, testing, troubleshooting, and product improvements.
• Conduct and coordinate with the Mechanic for product testing, installation, repair, modification, and performance evaluation.
• Coordinate with the Sales Team to identify customer needs, market opportunities, and potential product improvements.
• Work closely with the Mechanic and Sales Teams in product research and development (R&D) to develop new products and improve existing products that can contribute to customer satisfaction and sales growth.
• Gather and evaluate customer feedback, sales information, and technical insights-including through participation in and support of relevant events to support product development.
• Ensure designs meet customer requirements, safety considerations, quality requirements, and applicable engineering standards.
• Provide technical support for product installation, troubleshooting, and other mechanical concerns.
• Perform other tasks and responsibilities outside the primary scope of the position when reasonably assigned by management, particularly those that can support the team's operations and contribute to the overall growth and development of the Company.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Tool and Die Technology, or a related course.
• Equivalent technical education and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience & Technical Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in mechanical design or CAD drafting.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, including 3D modeling and 2D technical drawings.
• Knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Basic knowledge of machine testing, troubleshooting, installation, and mechanical design improvement.
• Experience in motorcycle repair, maintenance, or modification is preferred.
• AutoCAD/SolidWorks certification or training is an advantage.
• Knowledge of ASME, ANSI, JIS, GB, IDN Standards, or other applicable engineering standards is an advantage.
