Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Drafter to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and 3D models that support product design, manufacturing, and maintenance processes. This role requires proficiency in CAD software, including 2D and 3D drafting, to develop accurate representations of mechanical components and systems. The Mechanical Drafter will collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure designs meet specifications and facilitate efficient production. Additionally, the role involves assisting with equipment maintenance planning and overseeing safety and cleanliness standards within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D CAD drawings and documentation for mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software.
• Create accurate 3D CAD models for product design, prototyping, and analysis purposes.
• Collaborate with engineers to interpret design concepts and translate them into technical drawings adhering to industry standards.
• Assist in determining proper corrective actions for damaged or worn equipment by reviewing maintenance history and consulting with the operations team to identify cost-effective solutions.
• Support the protection of physical assets by contributing to facility maintenance planning and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Oversee the work of outside service vendors involved in housekeeping or equipment servicing through physical inspections, ensuring work quality and safety standards are maintained.
• Maintain organized CAD documentation for easy retrieval and revision control of drawings and models.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing technical input on product design modifications or process enhancements.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Drafter or similar role involving CAD drafting and modeling.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent 3D modeling tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical drafting principles, technical drawing standards, and documentation practices.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling for product design is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with equipment maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, and corrective action planning is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Pay: $28.55 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Experience:

• Drafting: 1 year (Preferred)
• 3D Drafting: 1 year (Preferred)
• AutoCAD: 1 year (Preferred)
