What You’ll Do As an EIT II, you’ll take on broader responsibility for technical tasks—supporting design, analysis, and coordination while helping keep deliverables on schedule, on budget, and aligned with client and code requirements. You’ll mentor EIT I peers and build toward responsible charge under the guidance of senior engineers.

  • Learn and apply SSR technical standards and procedures while executing tasks on active projects.
  • Assist with design analyses using industry software; perform computer‑based engineering calculations and system design functions.
  • Support production of designs in Revit and/or CADD; coordinate with designers and oversee assigned design development tasks.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to determine equipment needs and provide technical information for procedures and sequences.
  • Attend and participate in meetings with owners, clients, and architects as needed; communicate design requirements to contractors and vendors.
  • Help develop man‑hour budgets and perform tasks in accordance with the plan; document progress and risks.
  • Assist with technical documentation, proposals, and presentations that communicate scope, approach, and value.
  • Accompany senior staff on job‑site visits to investigate field conditions and monitor progress against design specs, owner expectations, and codes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schematics, and engineering reports; maintain neat, accurate files.
  • Actively participate in internal/external training; may mentor EIT I on software, standards, and codes; may assist PMs with select facilitation duties.

Minimum Requirements Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited college with two years applicable experience
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and be certified EIT with a state licensure board

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; knowledge of discipline‑specific software (e.g., Trace700, SKM).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies; knowledge of drafting/design procedures and standards.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations; ability to read drawings and coordinate multi‑discipline inputs.
  • Strong written communication and technical writing; clear speech clarity and interpersonal collaboration.
  • Detail‑oriented with sound judgment and decision‑making; strong comprehension and follow‑through on direction and feedback.
