Mechanical Engineer (6-month contract)

About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale hyperscale data center construction project in Jakarta. You will oversee mechanical systems installation, construction quality, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical construction activities on site.
• Review engineering drawings, technical submittals, and shop drawings.
• Monitor installation quality and compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Conduct site inspections and support issue resolution.
• Support HVAC, chilled water, pumps, piping, and cooling systems delivery.
• Participate in testing, commissioning, and system handover activities.
• Track project progress and provide regular updates.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage defects, punch lists, and close-out activities.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years' experience in construction, engineering, or project delivery.
• Experience in data centers, critical facilities, industrial, manufacturing, or large infrastructure projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building systems.
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with commissioning and testing processes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
• Proficiency in English would be a plus
