As our organisation continues to grow locally and internationally, we are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

Role purpose

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, coordination, supervision and certification of mechanical building services systems from concept through to construction. You will play an active role in ensuring systems are compliant, coordinated and delivered to QP’s quality standards, while supporting PMC-related activities including peer review, QA/QC and site supervision.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and clients to ensure mechanical systems are fully integrated and successfully delivered.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and supervise the installation of mechanical building services systems for new and existing developments, including HVAC, ventilation, public health, water supply, sanitation and fire protection systems.
• Lead mechanical design packages from concept, scheme and detailed design through to construction, ensuring coordination with electrical and other building services disciplines.
• Undertake PMC-related activities, including peer reviews, QA/QC reviews, technical assessments and site supervision.
• Carry out and witness testing, commissioning and certification of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with design intent, specifications and applicable standards.
• Monitor works on site and ensure compliance with contract documentation, legislation, health and safety requirements and professional standards.
• Ensure all as-built documentation is complete, accurate and coordinated prior to project handover.
• Assist with commercial aspects of projects, including payment applications, variations and claims, as required.
• Monitor system performance, define maintenance and operating procedures, and support the integration of new technologies into existing systems.

What you bring

• Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering building services engineering design across concept, scheme and detailed stages on complex, multi-sector projects.
• Proven ability to manage building services design commissions, including coordination, scope control and project finances.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; experience with BIM and engineering tools such as Revit, HAP and IES is an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience contributing to QA/QC processes, peer reviews, site supervision and system certification, ensuring compliance with technical, contractual and safety requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a measured and efficient approach to decision-making.
• High attention to detail, with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts, influence outcomes and work confidently with multidisciplinary teams.
