MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Mechanical Engineer Job Scope:

• Project Life Cycle (PLC) Management
• Project evaluation, plan, coordinate, execute project scope and ensure assigned projects are delivered successfully according to technical standards, safety regulations, timelines and quality requirements.
• Serve as primary point of contact between the company and the client for all project-related matters. Address client inquiries, concerns and feedback promptly by escalating to the top management.
• Evaluate and conduct assessment on site conditions, site limitations or logistics challenges, and coordinate solution to determine project feasibility and gather technical requirement.
• Collaborate with The Directors, General Manager and Controlling (PMO) on the technical assessment and ensure technical clarity and aligned with business goals.
• Tracking of project performance against established metrics, ensuring projects stay on track within budget and documented.
• Ensure project closure meets requirement by coordinate final inspections, testing, and handover documentation to Supportive (PMO).
• Manpower Deployment And Managing The Operation Team
• Plan, allocate and manage manpower which includes but not limited to mobilisation and demobilisation, site-rotations based on operational needs.
• Allocate resources to projects and ensuring the right people with the necessary skills are appropriately assigned.
• Ensure optimal utilization of workforce resources while minimizing idle time and maintaining productivity.
• Ensure operation team adhere to safety rules and regulations while executing the work.
• Evaluate team performance and recommend improvements, trainings, or disciplinary actions where necessary.
• Conduct regular toolbox briefings, on-site supervision, monitor attendance, punctuality and site performance of assigned personnel.
• Ensure proper housekeeping practices are followed daily at the worksite.
• Operational Cost At The Minimal and Project Deliverables Are Met
• Ensure that operational cost are managed effectively and kept within the approved budget consistently, without compromising on work quality and complete within the agreed project schedule.
• Coordinate with the (PMO) Analyst or Quantity Surveyor on budget tracking for projects. This includes close monitoring of labour costs, materials cost and overhead expenses by ensuring project is financially viable to generate the intended profit margins.
• Documentation Compliance and Submission
• Prepare and organize project documents in the provided folders for safekeeping. Ensuring all approved documentation to be signed and stamped by clients and to be returned in a timely manner to the authorized Supportive (PMO). The documentation includes but not limited to the following:
• Work Order (WO)
• Laporan Kerja (LK)
• Work Completetion Certificate (WCC)
• Manual Delivery Order (M/DO)
• Reporting and Accountability
• Track operation output and provide accurate daily or weekly reports on project progress, issues, and manpower utilization accordance with company’s format and specified timeframe in the designated WhatsApp groupchat.
• Liaise with the customer to obtain purchase orders and ensure that the Delivery Order (DO) and Sales Invoice (IV) are appropriately signed, stamped, and promptly returned to the authorized Supportive (PMO) personnel.
• Facilitates communication between project teams and directors, providing regular and consistent updates on project status, risks and changes.
• Identifies, analyzes, and mitigates project risks, establishing protocols for risk response and prompt escalation.
• On-Site Inventory Reporting
• Oversee and provide timely reports on the movement, usage, and condition of all machinery, tools and equipment, and other company assets in the designated WhatsApp groupchat.
• Any loss, damage, malfunction, or irregularity must be reported immediately to the inventory department or top management to ensure accountability and operational continuity.
• HR Coordination for Operation Employee And Subcontractor
• Notifying the HR department immediately upon newly joined employees or subcontractor before the job commence for proper record-keeping and safety compliance purposes.
• To collect and verify essential information such as photos of IC (MyKad), passports and any other relevant credentials.
• Inspecting and verifying the appointed subcontractor’s work progress to ensure alignment with agreed scopes and requirements are met.

Job Requirements for Mechanical Engineer:

• Can be based in Bintulu, Mukah, Sibu or Sarawak Region
• Office HQ is located at 15 1/2 miles, Kuching Outer Ring
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 02 - 05 years of relevant working experience in mechanical engineering, project execution, or site operations.
• Experience in managing projects, supervising site operations, and coordinating manpower.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality control.
• Good leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently, under pressure, and meet project deadlines.
• Good command of spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Physically fit and willing to travel or work at project sites when required.
• Possess a valid driving license.
