The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of a well-established building services team, responsible for the design and delivery of HVAC and mechanical systems across a variety of projects. You will contribute throughout the full project lifecycle, from early-stage design through documentation, construction support, and final handover.

Your day-to-day work will include system design development, calculations, equipment selection, drafting coordination, and site-based support where required. You will also liaise with clients, architects, and project teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and aligned with project requirements.

More experienced engineers will also take on project leadership responsibilities, support junior staff, and play a role in improving internal technical standards and workflows.

About You

You are a Mechanical Engineer with consultancy experience who enjoys solving building services challenges and working in a collaborative environment. You are comfortable taking ownership of design work and contributing to coordinated multi-discipline projects.

You will bring:

• A BE (Mechanical) or equivalent qualification

• Around 3-5+ years' experience in building services consultancy (NZ experience preferred)

• Exposure to full project delivery from concept design through to construction stages

• Sound understanding of NZ building codes, standards, and compliance requirements

• Experience with mechanical design tools and software such as Revit, HAP, and Excel-based calculations

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Confidence working within integrated engineering teams

  Working towards or holding Chartered status will be viewed favourably.
