Mechanical Engineer

Summary:

Akteknik İnşaat Sanayi & Ticaret A.Ş. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our headquarters design and technical team in Istanbul. The successful candidate will lead the mechanical design of large-scale, complex projects delivered across our domestic and international portfolio, from concept development through detailed engineering and site support.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and technical development of HVAC systems for large-scale, complex facilities.
• Oversee fire protection system design, ensuring full compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Develop plumbing and sanitary system designs, from concept through detailed engineering.
• Design and specify industrial mechanical equipment in line with project requirements.
• Perform engineering calculations, system sizing, and design optimization to meet performance, safety, and cost targets.
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and design packages using CAD/BIM tools.
• Coordinate with architectural and electrical design teams to ensure integrated, constructible, and code-compliant solutions.
• Review and validate mechanical design deliverables for accuracy, safety, and technical compliance.
• Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors on technical submittals and equipment selection.
• Track design progress against project schedules and prepare technical reports for project management.
• Provide engineering support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in project design and/or execution, including large-scale, complex developments.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, fire protection, plumbing/sanitary systems, and industrial equipment design.
• Proficiency in CAD tools for 2D/3D modeling and preparation of technical drawings; familiarity with BIM workflows is an asset.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply internationally recognized technical standards, codes, and project specifications.
• Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and monitor engineering activities, timelines, and deliverables.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken); Turkish language proficiency is an asset.
• Based on-site at the Istanbul headquarters, full-time.
