Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, installing, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment. The role ensures the reliability, efficiency, safety, and compliance of mechanical assets while supporting engineering projects, maintenance activities, and operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Design and Planning

• Design and develop mechanical systems, equipment, and components.

• Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical reports.

• Review and evaluate mechanical designs for compliance with applicable standards and requirements.

• Participate in feasibility studies, project planning, and cost estimation.

Project Management

• Support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of mechanical engineering projects.

• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.

• Ensure quality control throughout project execution.

Operations and Maintenance

• Conduct inspections and assessments of mechanical equipment.

• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and recommend corrective actions.

• Improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and operational performance.

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, engineering standards, and company policies.

• Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses.

• Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives.

• Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.

Documentation and Reporting

• Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, and project documentation.

• Maintain accurate equipment and asset records.

• Develop operating procedures and maintenance manuals.

• Provide regular status updates and recommendations to management.

Job Qualifications (JQ)

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME) preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, or construction projects.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.

• Familiarity with HVAC, pumps, compressors, generators, boilers, and piping systems.

• Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, or similar CAD software.

• Understanding of engineering standards, codes, and regulations.

• Ability to perform engineering calculations and technical analysis.

• Knowledge of root cause analysis and reliability engineering.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Certifications

• Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME)

• Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP)

• Project Management Professional (PMP) is an advantage

• Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Certification

• Energy Management Certification is a plus
