Mechanical Engineer

Overview Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Building Engineering Services team in our Philadelphia, PA office. The Mechanical Engineer will work alongside engineers and architects as part of a design team applying mechanical engineering principles towards the successful design of low to mid-rise new commercial construction projects, as well as evaluating existing buildings for renovations or reuse.

Responsibilities

• Acquire knowledge and develop basic skills in building HVAC and plumbing design.
• Apply learned techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
• Demonstrate the ability to prepare low-level complexity general engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
• Demonstrate the ability to apply the fundamentals of Mechanical engineering concepts and principles to assigned design tasks.
• Assist with other project related tasks such as field work, design, documentation, coordination, and CAD work.
• Exercise judgment on details of work and work under direct supervision on all aspects of tasks assigned.
• Work within Revit and AutoCAD to successfully produce construction documents within established budgets and deadlines.
• Perform site visits and field investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering with Mechanical Emphasis from an ABET accredited University.
• 0-3 years' experience.
• Engineering in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• Experience in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Demonstrate basic investigative, analytical and research skills.
• Demonstrate general computer skills, knowledge and acumen (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, design software, etc.).
• Ability to learn and apply technical skills and knowledge.
• Ability to effectively work as part of a team (i.e. collaborate, contribute, respect others).
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, principles and practices.
• Demonstrate basic, general writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
