Mechanical Engineer

Key responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical components for lighting products and other finished goods, ensuring functionality and manufacturability.
• Conduct simulations and analyses (e.g., thermal, structural) to validate designs.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers and product designers to integrate mechanical and electrical systems.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation, including specifications, drawings, and test plans.
• Oversee prototype development and testing, analyzing results to refine designs.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical support during the manufacturing process.
• Validate proper function, projected life, and quality of products through effective testing methods.
• Create accurate 3D models and detailed drawings of designs for communication to customers, Avistar staff, and suppliers.
• Review drawings for completeness of information and engineering specifications to ensure error free designs.
• Develop engineering bills of materials that are complete and accurate.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar required.
• Basic knowledge of statistics and their application to product design and control.
• Ability to write clearly about highly technical subject matter.
• Proficient in mechanical design, calculation, analysis, and simulation.
• Must exhibit familiarity with basic drafting standards.
• Proficient in Solidworks.
• Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to lighting products.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
• Familiarity of project management tools and methodologies.
