Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

The Mechanical Engineer supports SCG's engineering and manufacturing operations by designing, improving, and maintaining mechanical systems and production equipment. Based in Thailand, this role works closely with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency, ensure equipment reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires communication in both Chinese and English to collaborate with international stakeholders and regional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve mechanical systems, equipment, and production processes to enhance operational efficiency.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to maximize reliability.
• Analyze mechanical issues, identify root causes, and recommend effective engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and project teams to optimize manufacturing processes and support new initiatives.
• Prepare engineering drawings, technical specifications, reports, and documentation in accordance with company standards.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, testing, and process improvements for new and existing production lines.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout engineering activities.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve productivity and operational performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, or industrial operations; strong internship experience may also be considered. (not mandatory)
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and maintenance practices.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Communication proficiency in Chinese and English .
