The business is growing and investing in product development to keep up with customer and market demand.

The overall objective of the Mechanical Engineer is to be responsible for the design, analysis, validation and continuous improvement of fluid system products and accessories. This role applies sound engineering principles and independent judgment to develop technical solutions, and partners cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, sales and leadership to drive product performance, manufacturability and compliance.

For this role we are specifically looking for experience with pumps, fluid systems or pressure-containing components or other related fields.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, analyze, prototype and validate fluid system components and accessories.
  • Evaluate technical approaches and perform trade-off analyses based on performance, manufacturability, reliability, cost and risk.
  • Create and maintain 3D models and detailed engineering drawings in SolidWorks, applying GD&T and performing tolerance stack-up analyses.
  • Develop, execute and interpret engineering test plans, issuing formal conclusions and recommendations.
  • Lead first-article evaluations and provide engineering support on the shop floor, resolving drawing, tolerance and design issues.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions for manufacturing and field issues.
  • Maintain and approve engineering data including BOMs, part numbers, drawings and specifications.
  • Provide engineering support to sales and customers, including sizing calculations, product selection and application analysis.
  • Support certification and regulatory compliance efforts (e.g., UL, CSA, CE, NSF, ATEX) through engineering analysis and documentation.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • 2+ years of professional engineering experience in pumps and systems, fluid dynamics or a related field.
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling and 2D drawings, with SolidWorks preferred.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Strong fundamentals in machine design, stress analysis and fluid mechanics.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes for steel, stainless steel, aluminum and plastics, including machining on lathes and mills.
  • Experience with FEA, castings, injection molding or elastomer molding is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, Division 1 pressure vessel code is desirable.
  • Comfortable with hands-on work in R&D and manufacturing environments, with excellent communication and attention to detail.

Salary: $80,000 – $110,000 annually.

There is a genuine opportunity for someone to join a growing team and business. A strong focus on product development and a high performing, collaborative working environment.
