Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our hydropower project team. The role will be responsible for supporting the procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment required for hydropower facilities. The successful candidate will work closely with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and project teams to ensure safe, efficient, and timely project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Review technical drawings and specifications for hydropower mechanical equipment.
• Prepare technical requirements and specifications for equipment procurement.
• Evaluate vendor proposals, drawings, and technical documents.
• Monitor and supervise the installation of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Assist in testing and commissioning activities to ensure equipment performs as designed.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and project teams to resolve technical issues.
• Support project construction activities and ensure compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Prepare reports and maintain project documentation related to mechanical works.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Preferably a Licensed Mechanical Engineer.
• At least 5-7 years of relevant experience in hydropower, power generation, renewable energy, industrial facilities, or major construction projects.
• Knowledge of hydropower mechanical systems, including turbines, generators, penstocks, pumps, valves, and auxiliary equipment is an advantage.
• Familiarity with equipment installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Good communication, coordination, and report-writing skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering software applications.
• Willing to conduct site inspections and fieldwork.
• Must be willing to relocate and be assigned at the Benguet Site Office.
