Mechanical Engineer

About the role

You will be the lead on mechanical design for office fit-out projects, working in the heart of Melbourne's CBD. This is a hands-on, critical role. You will be managing the design process from concept through to construction completion, working directly with architects, interior designers, and other building trades.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical designs, calculations, and documentation specifically for commercial office fit-outs
• Coordinate mechanical services seamlessly with architects and other trades, ensuring the vision of the design becomes a functional reality
• Conduct site inspections, attend client meetings, and manage project workflows from start to finish
• Ensure every project meets the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards, maintaining high standard of quality
• Manage the technical integrity and efficiency of mechanical designs

About you

• Minimum of 4 years of proven experience specifically in commercial office fit-outs within the Australian engineering sector
• Strong, practical working knowledge of HVAC, smoke ventilation, and mechanical services design principles
• Recognised degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Building Services)
• Exceptional English communication skills and comfort liaising with clients and stakeholders
• Full working rights and ready to contribute to a long-term career in Australia
