About the role

J & A ASSOCIATES SDN. BHD.(M&E Engineering Consultancy Company) is seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a full role of project lifecycle in designs, analyzes and oversees mechanical systems such as HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection System and advises clients from project initial feasibility studies to detailed design, site coordination and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with clients, architects, and multi-disciplinary team to plan, design, and deliver mechanical engineering solutions for building or industrial projects .Ensuring that all designs meet stringent quality standards, regulatory requirements, and project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies using computer-aided design (CAD) software and industry best practices
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical analyses to evaluate project requirements and propose effective engineering solutions
• Perform detailed calculations and simulations to ensure mechanical designs meet performance, safety, and durability standards
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and design reports
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, electrical engineers, and other specialists to ensure integrated project deliver.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution

• Professional registration or willingness to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) certification

• Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering design or project execution

• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar tools

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex engineering challenges and develop practical solutions

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders

• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work within specified deadlines

• Knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations applicable to mechanical design

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects whilst collaborating effectively within a team environment
