Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Schematics tools, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.
• Conduct root cause analysis on mechanical failures or inefficiencies to identify underlying issues and implement effective corrective actions.
• Utilize MATLAB and Simulink to model system behaviors, perform simulations, and optimize system performance before physical prototyping.
• Design and analyze systems using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure precision and quality in manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with electrical and software teams to integrate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) into mechanical systems for automation purposes.
• Create comprehensive system design documentation, including schematics, technical reports, and assembly instructions.
• Perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting of prototypes using LabVIEW and other measurement tools to verify system functionality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
• Proven experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling tools.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, system design, and engineering best practices.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, and other simulation or measurement platforms.
• Experience conducting root cause analysis on mechanical issues with a methodical approach.
• Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and CAD models accurately.
• Knowledge of GD&T standards for precise mechanical component specifications.
• Hands-on experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable.
