Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Medical Device Product Development

Job Overview:

Seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support medical device product development, including mechanical design, prototype builds, engineering testing, troubleshooting, CAD modeling, and design improvements. The role involves close collaboration with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, Test Lab teams, and suppliers.

Important Duties:

• Plan and coordinate prototype builds, engineering builds, components, fixtures, and materials.
• Support engineering and product testing, ensuring prototypes and test articles are ready for scheduled tests.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues, investigate test failures, identify root causes, and support design improvements.
• Review test results and recommend improvements to product performance and reliability.
• Create and update 3D CAD models, assemblies, and mechanical drawings using Creo.
• Maintain engineering drawings and documentation to reflect design changes and supplier feedback.
• Collaborate with suppliers on component design, manufacturability, tolerances, and drawing requirements.
• Apply GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Work cross-functionally to support product development milestones and medical device engineering requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of mechanical engineering or product development experience.
• Medical device or MedTech industry experience.
• Strong hands-on Creo CAD experience, including 3D modeling, assemblies, and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, tolerance stack-ups, and fit, form, and function.
• Experience with prototype builds, engineering testing, mechanical troubleshooting, and design improvements.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and DFM principles.
• Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
