Mechanical Design R&D Engineer

NOTE: These positions involves ITAR & CUI. Person MUST be a US Citizen, green card holder, or otherwise authorized to work with ITAR and CUI.

We a startup and are looking to add several people to our engineering team to support the design, development, and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes, equipment development, tooling, research, and more. As a startup, people tend to wear many hats.

Job Description: As a Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for designing and developing manufacturing processes and equipment. You will leverage your knowledge of 3D printing, CAD, and CAM to create innovative solutions that meet our clients' needs and exceed their expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Design and develop components and equipment using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion360).

·       Utilize 3D printing technologies to prototype and produce parts.

·       Program with CAM for machining various components.

·       Manage projects including potential R&D.

·       As a rapidly growing startup many other tasks, projects, and opportunities as needed

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional engineering experience
• Demonstrated ability to creatively solve practical engineering problems
• Ability to work independently on open-ended technical problems and strong problem solving skills.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal, including ability to communicate engineering concepts through drawings, calculations, documentation, and direct collaboration with manufacturing personnel
• Expected to be proficient in range of tools including CAD, CAM, 3D printing, GD&T, FEA, etc.
• Experience designing machinery, equipment, tooling, or mechanica+l systems

Preferred, but not required:

• Startup experience.
• Experience with metal manufacturing, metallurgy and casting technologies
• Hands-on manufacturing or fabrication experience
• R&D, prototype development, or experimental testing experience
• Experience working directly with machinists, fabricators, technicians, and production personnel.
