Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support custom engineering, CNC machining, laser cutting, metal fabrication, welding and industrial equipment manufacturing. The role combines technical design, production coordination, quality assurance and practical workshop problem-solving.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and review 2D manufacturing drawings, 3D models, fabrication drawings and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Plan and coordinate CNC milling/turning, laser cutting, bending, welding, assembly and finishing activities.
• Interpret customer drawings, material specifications, dimensions, fits and tolerances; identify manufacturability issues.
• Coordinate job costing, material requirements, routing, production schedules and realistic delivery timelines.
• Support machine-part development, reverse engineering, jigs, fixtures and industrial equipment fabrication.
• Inspect critical dimensions and finished components using suitable measuring tools; maintain quality records.
• Work with operators, fabricators, welders, purchasing and sales to resolve technical issues and reduce rework.
• Ensure workshop practices follow company safety procedures and applicable quality requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Preferred: 3+ years of practical experience in machining, sheet metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD software).
• Good understanding of CNC machining processes, laser cutting, welding, materials and fabrication methods.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specify tolerances and use inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Strong communication, planning, documentation and workshop coordination skills.
• UAE manufacturing experience is an advantage; UAE driving licence is a plus, not mandatory.

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS

• Knowledge of CNC programming/CAM, nesting, sheet metal development, GD&T and quality-control documentation.
• Experience with custom machinery, industrial maintenance components, cost estimation and production optimization.
