MECHANICAL ENGINEER - DESIGN

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. DESIGN COORDINATION:

• Assist in coordination with the General Consultant (GC) on MEP design matters
• Attend MEP design meetings with Design Consultants and GC as directed by the Senior Mechanical Engineer Review Detail Design Deliverables for compliance with Employer's Requirements (ER, ODS, Basic Design) and flag discrepancies
• Prepare and raise RFls on design issues for technical coordination
• Support CODE checking of Detail Design submissions from Design Consultants (NK)
• Liaise with OEM/equipment/system suppliers to gather technical data for Detail Design input
• Cross-check MEP drawings against Civil & Structural Design drawings for clashes and coordination issues.
• Track and follow up on approval status of Detail Drawings submitted to GC and Employer for construction

2. ENGINEERING:

• Technical support for Procurement of Main Equipment.
• Technical Clarification to Sub-contractors/ Vendors for Procurement. (VSA, Material Approval)
• Review and check Subcon Technical Submission as per Employers Requirement.

SHOP DRAWING:

• Review Material Approval Sheets initiated by the Construction Site Team for each site, and endorse for approval.
• Review shop drawings from the Construction Site Team, checking alignment with Approved for Construction Drawings, and endorse for approval.
• Consolidate As-Built Drawings following actual site survey.
• Submit all As-Built Drawings to the BIM team for input.

4. INTERFACE:

• Assist Design coordination with another package
