Mechanical Engineer - Heavy Duty

Five M Waste Management LLC is seeking a qualified and dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our maintenance team in Dubai.

This position is responsible for maintaining the operational reliability, safety and availability of the Company's fleet and heavy equipment. The successful candidate will oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities, safeguard fleet assets and support the efficient operation of our transportation and waste management services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities for the Company's fleet and heavy equipment.
• Monitor the mechanical condition, performance, and serviceability of heavy trucks, trailers, and waste management equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Manage the maintenance and repair of Heavy trucks, Trailers (Trippers and Flatbeds), Waste skips (Single and Double), Waste Compactors, Waste Collection Vehicles, Mechanical and hydraulic systems and related equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and technical faults and ensure timely and effective repairs.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and extend equipment service life.
• Safeguard the Company's fleet inventory, machinery, spare parts, tools, and maintenance assets through proper control and record management.
• Coordinate with workshop personnel, external service providers, and suppliers to ensure maintenance activities are completed efficiently and in accordance with Company standards.
• Monitor maintenance costs and recommend practical solutions to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Review maintenance records, repair history, inspection reports, and equipment documentation to support effective fleet management.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with the Company's safety procedures, manufacturer recommendations, and applicable UAE regulations.
• Support vehicle inspections, equipment commissioning, and technical evaluations before deployment.
• Prepare maintenance reports and provide recommendations for equipment replacement, refurbishment, or operational improvements.

REQUIREMENT

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering qualification.
• Experience in fleet maintenance, heavy vehicles, construction equipment, waste management, transportation, or a related industry.
• Sound knowledge of diesel engines, heavy trucks, trailers, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and waste management equipment.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and coordinate maintenance activities effectively.
• Good planning, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Proficient in preparing maintenance records, technical reports, and equipment documentation.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning and fleet management practices.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.
• Valid UAE driving licence is an advantage.
