Job Summary

We are looking for a technically competent Mechanical Engineer with experience in machine selection, tooling selection, manufacturing processes and technical evaluation of machinery quotations. The candidate will be responsible for identifying suitable machines and tools based on production requirements, evaluating technical specifications, coordinating with vendors and recommending cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Selection: Identify and recommend suitable machines based on production requirements, capacity, accuracy, technical specifications and budget.
• Tool Selection: Select appropriate cutting tools, tooling systems, jigs, fixtures and accessories based on machining operations and component requirements.
• Technical Evaluation: Assess machine capabilities, operating requirements, maintenance needs, productivity and suitability for manufacturing processes.
• Quotation Management: Obtain quotations from multiple suppliers and prepare technical and commercial comparison statements.
• Vendor Coordination: Liaise with machine manufacturers and suppliers for technical details, demonstrations, specifications, pricing and delivery schedules.
• Cost Analysis: Compare machine and tooling costs, operating expenses, maintenance costs and expected productivity.
• Purchase Recommendations: Prepare technical recommendations and present suitable options to management for approval.
• Installation & Commissioning: Coordinate machine installation, commissioning, trials and performance verification, as required.
• Documentation: Maintain machine specifications, vendor quotations, comparison sheets and technical evaluation records.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of machine tools, machining operations and tooling selection.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and machine specifications.
• Experience in quotation comparison and vendor evaluation.
• Good analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel for preparing technical and commercial comparisons.

Preferred Experience

Experience in a manufacturing industry involving machine tools, CNC/VMC machines, tooling, industrial equipment or capital machinery procurement will be an advantage.

Important Note

This role requires hands-on technical understanding and the ability to independently evaluate and recommend suitable machines and tools. It is not limited to routine purchasing or general facility administration.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
