Mechanical Engineer with designing knowledge

We are looking for a talented and experienced Mechanical Engineer with designing knowledge to join our growing team. We are seeking an engineer who not only excels in creating accurate 3D models and fabrication drawings but also understands how designs are fabricated, assembled, and installed on site.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working closely with production and site teams to ensure successful execution of engineering designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate 3D models, fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and technical details using SolidWorks, Fusion 360, and AutoCAD.
• Convert design concepts, sketches, and project requirements into production-ready technical drawings.
• Prepare detailed drawings for metal works, mechanical components, assembly parts, steel structures, supports, brackets, frames, and themed/scenic elements.
• Review dimensions, materials, tolerances, and fabrication feasibility before releasing drawings for production.
• Coordinate closely with Production, Design, QA/QC, Procurement, and Site teams throughout the project.
• Revise drawings based on internal reviews, client comments, consultant feedback, and site requirements.
• Provide clear fabrication details for cutting, welding, assembly, finishing, and installation.
• Support workshop and site teams by resolving technical issues during fabrication and installation.
• Ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and can be successfully implemented in production and on site.
• Conduct workshop and site visits whenever required to inspect work, provide technical guidance, and ensure designs are executed correctly.
• Recommend design improvements to enhance fabrication efficiency, quality, and installation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, fabrication, or technical drafting.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360 (Required).
• Proficient in AutoCAD (Required).
• Practical experience in fabrication, steel works, fit-out, theming, FRP, carpentry, or construction is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of fabrication methods, manufacturing processes, assembly techniques, and installation requirements.
• Must be able to prepare and review fabrication drawings, shop drawings, assembly drawings, and technical details.
• Must have practical experience supporting and implementing their own designs during fabrication and installation.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve engineering issues on the workshop floor and project site.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work effectively under tight project deadlines.
