Mechanical Engineering Assistant

Job Purpose

The Assistant Mechanical Engineer assists in the execution, coordination, and technical delivery of mechanical and engineering systems (such as HVAC, Plumbing & Drainage, Fire Services, and plant operations). This role bridges engineering design and on-site implementation, ensuring projects meet quality, timeline, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Analysis: Assist in developing engineering designs, load calculations, technical reports, and specifications for mechanical systems.
• Site Supervision & Coordination: Conduct on-site inspections and monitor work progress. Coordinate with clients, main contractors, sub-contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure efficient workflows.
• Documentation & Tendering: Prepare project submissions, technical drawing reviews, and project documentation. Draft testing and commissioning plans as well as operation and maintenance reports.
• Maintenance & Energy Systems: Analyze system maintenance records to formulate preventive planning, and assist in identifying sustainable energy efficiency initiatives.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Experience: Fresh graduates are highly encouraged to apply. For mid-tier assistant positions, 1 to 3 years of engineering or contractor experience is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project. Knowledge of modern digital tools like Building Information Modeling (BIM/Revit), Navisworks, or Bluebeam is highly advantageous.
• Language & Soft Skills: Strong communication fluency in English and Chinese (including Cantonese/Mandarin). Excellent problem-solving, collaborative teamwork, and organizational abilities.
