MECHANICAL ENGINEER – Food Manufacturing

💰 Salary: RM3,500 – RM4,000/month

About the Role

Our client, is looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join their manufacturing team.

This role will support two key areas: preventive maintenance of chocolate manufacturing lines and a new warehouse construction and setup project.

You will work closely with the Maintenance, Manufacturing and Project teams to ensure equipment reliability, smooth operations and successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Manufacturing

• Support the PM Lead in day-to-day preventive maintenance activities.
• Prepare weekly preventive maintenance plans for chocolate manufacturing lines.
• Coordinate spare parts preparation and support breakdown management.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure planned maintenance activities are executed effectively.
• Identify opportunities for equipment improvement and process efficiency.

Project Support

• Support the Project Lead in the construction and setup of a new warehouse.
• Review project specifications and ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
• Monitor project progress and follow up with relevant stakeholders.
• Support weekly PM and project meetings, including preparation of Minutes of Meeting (MOM).
• Monitor PM and project CAPEX and support monthly GR forecasts.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation and presentations.
• Collaborate with electrical, software and other engineering teams on multidisciplinary projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Internship or working experience in manufacturing, maintenance, plant engineering, production or project engineering will be an added advantage.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and mechanics of materials.
• CAD/SAP knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluent in English.
• Proactive, organised and able to manage multiple tasks.
