Mechanical Engineering Supervisor

Our client, a global pharmaceutical and biotechnology equipment manufacturer , is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineering Supervisor in Tonawanda, NY .

Pay Rate Range : $120,000–$135,000/year + bonus , depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

· Lead the mechanical engineering function supporting the design and development of industrial freeze dryers and associated equipment.

· Supervise Mechanical Engineers, Mechanical Designers/Drafters, and Material Specialists, including performance management, training, and professional development.

· Oversee mechanical design specifications, revisions, approvals, material requirements, and technical documentation.

· Partner with Chief Engineers and Project Managers to determine resource needs and support successful project execution.

· Schedule and allocate engineering resources based on project requirements and company priorities.

· Lead project design reviews and controlled design safety reviews.

· Provide technical support for freeze dryer specifications and designs to Sales and Management.

· Ensure departmental activities comply with applicable customer, national, legislative, quality, safety, and environmental standards.

· Prepare and present monthly project and engineering reports.

· Collaborate with other department supervisors to develop common engineering, planning, and scheduling tools.

· Work directly with customers throughout equipment specification, design, construction, and testing.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.

· Minimum of 10 years of Mechanical Engineering experience required.

· Minimum of 3 years of management or supervisory experience with demonstrated direct people-management responsibilities.

· Experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

· Experience with PLM and ERP systems; Vault and SAP preferred.

· Experience within an international capital equipment or industrial equipment manufacturing environment.

· Knowledge of engineering, purchasing, materials control, production, project management, testing, and quality functions within a capital equipment operation.

· Experience working directly with customers on technically complex equipment through specification, design, construction, and testing.

· Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required, typically less than 10%.

· Knowledge of freeze-drying/lyophilization processes and/or pharmaceutical applications preferred.

· Knowledge of ASME and PED pressure vessel codes preferred.
