What You Will Be Doing

• Develop accurate and timely mechanical construction estimates on which we base competitive bids and proposals

• Analyze and interpret detailed drawings and specifications.

• Determine and price value-engineered alternatives to plans and specifications.

• Perform budget pricing from schematic drawings and narrative.

• Lead the functioning of the Estimating Department; the education and development of junior personnel; on-going development and maintenance of computerized estimating programs and databases; congenial relations with clients and vendors.

• Work on change-orders and cost-to-complete estimates of on-going projects.

• Help create and communicate company standards for estimating mechanical design/build and plans and specs work.

• Review estimates created by others for accuracy and completeness

• Perform job handoffs from estimating to operations through clearly demonstrating detailed scopes of work, specifications and job specific conditions

What You Need for this Position

• 3+ years of mechanical estimating experience

• Strong understanding of estimating software

• Strong team mentality

• Experience in MS Office Suite, Accubid, LiveCount, McCormick, and ConEst preferred

• Project list or bid list preferred not required
