Mechanical / Fabrication Draughtsman

About the role

We are looking for a practical draughtsman who can turn engineering information into clear fabrication drawings for our workshop. This role suits someone who understands how steel and mechanical components are actually fabricated - not only how to operate CAD software.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare GA, fabrication, assembly and detail drawings for steel structures, machinery and fabricated equipment.
• Prepare drawings from client drawings, engineer sketches, site measurements and existing equipment.
• Prepare / check BOM and material information.
• Coordinate with engineering, production and QC on technical details and drawing revisions.
• Maintain proper drawing numbers, revision history and issue status.
• Attend workshop or site measurements when required.

About you

• Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting or related field.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred; strong junior candidates may also be considered.
• Good AutoCAD 2D skills.
• Must be able to read and understand fabrication drawings.
• Experience with steel fabrication, machinery, conveyors, tanks or structural work is an advantage.
• SolidWorks / 3D CAD is an advantage, but not compulsory.
• Careful, responsible and willing to communicate with workshop personnel.
