Job Title: Mechanical Fitter
Department: Mechanical / Maintenance
Location: Sagamu, Ogun State
Salary: ₦200,000 – ₦250,000

We are urgently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to support plant maintenance operations, attend to mechanical breakdowns, reduce equipment downtime, and ensure reliable operation of production machinery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend to routine mechanical problems, breakdowns, and equipment faults.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery.
• Maintain and prepare mechanical spares, assemblies, and replacement parts for use.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs.
• Work closely with the Section In-Charge and provide daily updates on maintenance activities and issues.
• Participate in daily maintenance/production meetings.
• Drive downtime reduction and equipment reliability.
• Conduct Why-Why Analysis / Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment breakdowns and downtime.
• Maintain proper maintenance records and reports.
• Ensure compliance with Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) requirements.
• Support plant safety and environmental improvement initiatives.
• Follow applicable maintenance standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

• SSCE + Trade Test / OND / HND / B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ hands-on mechanical maintenance/fitting experience.
• Strong experience in plant/factory/industrial maintenance.
• Proven experience handling mechanical breakdowns, repairs, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge of mechanical assemblies, bearings, shafts, gears, pumps, conveyors, valves, and related machinery.
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Knowledge of RCA/Why-Why Analysis and downtime reduction.
• Ability to work effectively with production and maintenance teams.
• Strong commitment to HSE, quality, and safe work practices.
• Must be available to resume immediately and work in Sagamu.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

Candidates from manufacturing, FMCG, food & beverage, cement, plastics, packaging, chemical, or other industrial plants with strong mechanical maintenance experience are preferred.

IMPORTANT: This is a hands-on Mechanical Fitter/Maintenance role. Candidates with only general technician, construction, automobile mechanic, or non-industrial maintenance experience may not be suitable.

Pay: ₦200,000.00 - ₦250,000.00 per month
