MECHANICAL FITTER

• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering diagrams to plan assembly or repair sequences.
• Assembly & Installation: Fit, align, and assemble metal parts, pumps, valves, gears, motors, and conveyor systems using precision measuring tools.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, inspect equipment for wear or defects, and diagnose mechanical failures to minimize downtime.
• Fabrication & Repair: Cut, shape, grind, drill, and weld (MIG, TIG, or MMA) metal components when modifications or part replacements are needed.
• Safety Compliance: Follow strict workplace safety guidelines, manage equipment lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols, and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and rotating systems. Precision Tools: Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, torque wrenches, dial indicators, hand tools, and heavy shop machinery. . Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, lift heavy materials, and work in industrial environments like factories, mines, or power plants.
