Mechanical Foreman

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mechanical Foreman to lead and supervise on-site MEP projects. The successful candidate will oversee daily field operations, managing technicians and subcontractors to carry out the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of HVAC, VRF/VRV, AHUs, FCUs, and central chiller plant equipment. This role requires strong supervisory skills, technical expertise in diagnosing system issues, and a commitment to maintaining rigorous site safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Supervision & Team Leadership

• Direct, coordinate, and supervise daily field activities for HVAC technicians, mechanics, and subcontractors.
• Assign work orders, schedule shifts, and manage task completion to ensure project delivery aligns with timelines and specifications.
• Deliver technical guidance, mentorship, and on-site training to junior technicians to improve productivity and craftsmanship.

2. Technical Execution & System Operations

• Oversee the installation, routine preventive maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, central chiller plants, cooling towers, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, and VRF/VRV equipment.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, MEP shop drawings, schematic diagrams, and technical manuals to direct proper execution.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC and chiller systems to provide rapid, effective repair solutions.
• Conduct system inspections and monitor operational performance to verify quality control and project compliance.

3. Project Coordination & Material Management

• Maintain accurate inventory management for spare parts, materials, tools, and equipment needed for daily operations.
• Liaise with site engineers, project managers, and main contractors to provide progress updates, report on-site challenges, and coordinate scheduled works.
• Prepare and submit regular progress logs, site logs, and maintenance documentation.

4. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Enforce strict compliance with site safety policies, HSE standards, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Conduct tool-box talks and identify potential workplace hazards prior to starting daily operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education & Certification: High School / Intermediate qualification combined with technical certification/vocational training in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC) or Mechanical Works.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in HVAC and central chiller plant installations and maintenance, with prior supervisory experience in electromechanical/MEP contracting environments.

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Abu Dhabi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
