Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Mechanical HVAC Estimator specializing in mechanical insulation to join our team and drive the success of our heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for complex mechanical systems, collaborating closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and project feasibility. Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive mechanical HVAC estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and scope of work using industry-standard estimating software such as HeavyBid.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand project requirements, timelines, and client expectations to produce precise cost projections.
• Utilize Bluebeam for digital plan review, markup, and extracting quantities efficiently to support accurate pricing.
• Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs for ductwork, piping, equipment, and other HVAC components to determine material needs and labor costs.
• Prepare detailed bid proposals that include pricing strategies, labor estimates, material costs, and subcontractor quotes.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive prices while maintaining quality standards.
• Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while adhering to deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Assist in reviewing project contracts and scope changes to update estimates accordingly and support project management efforts.

Skills

• Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu for plan review and markup is essential.
• Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Solid understanding of construction estimating processes within the HVAC/mechanical trades.
• Experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software enhances accuracy and efficiency.
• Demonstrated project management skills to coordinate multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
• Extensive construction experience with a focus on HVAC systems, including knowledge of materials, installation methods, and industry standards.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, and suppliers to achieve project goals.
