Mechanical Integration Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Integration Engineer to own the design and integration of complex mechanical subsystems on autonomous platforms. You will take hardware from requirements through design, analysis, prototyping, testing, and production.

Responsibilities

• Own design and integration of mechanical subsystems (payload mounts, sensor packaging, enclosures, structural interfaces, electromechanical hardware)
• Drive work from requirements through PDR/CDR, prototyping, environmental testing, and production support
• Create 3D models and detailed drawings
• Perform trade studies, tolerance analysis, and basic structural/thermal considerations
• Collaborate closely with structures, electrical, perception, manufacturing, and naval architecture teams
• Support build, integration, and resolution of hardware issues
• Maintain clear documentation and design rationale

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of mechanical design and integration experience
• Proficiency with 3D CAD (Siemens NX preferred)
• Experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability
• Hands-on experience taking hardware from concept through prototype or production
• Strong cross-functional communication skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electromechanical systems, packaging, or payload integration
• Experience in aerospace, defense, autonomous systems, or harsh-environment hardware
• Familiarity with environmental testing (shock, vibration, thermal)

Pay: $90,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
