As our new Mechanical Maintenance Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of mechanical engineering maintenance and project installations, ensuring our engineering teams and contractors are effectively deployed to deliver safe, efficient and reliable operations.

You’ll play a key role in coordinating maintenance activities and engineering projects, working closely with internal stakeholders, engineering teams and contractors to ensure plans are delivered efficiently and to a high standard. This is an opportunity to drive continuous improvement, maximise equipment reliability and make a real impact on the performance of our site.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the training, development and performance of the Mechanical Engineering team.
  • Manage mechanical engineering projects, installations and contractors, ensuring high engineering and safety standards.

What we’re looking for:

  • A recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification, such as an apprenticeship, City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent, ideally supported by an HNC.
  • At least three years’ management experience in a similar engineering or maintenance role, ideally within a process plant environment.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills, including interpreting mechanical drawings and managing plant reliability issues.
  • Experience managing contractors, safe systems of work, engineering projects and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Proven leadership, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and balance maintenance needs with production demands.

Desirable experience:

  • Experience working on a COMAH site, with knowledge of PSSR, LOLER, CMMS and CompEx regulations.
