Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

Kellogg (Thailand) Ltd. is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join our operations team at our facility in Pluak Daeng Rayong. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our mechanical systems and equipment. As Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations, leading a team of maintenance technicians, and ensuring that all equipment operates at optimal performance levels. This position is integral to maintaining our production schedules and upholding our commitment to operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

1.   Maintenance Operations

• Coordinate and prioritize daily maintenance tasks to address operational challenges quickly and effectively.
• Ensure proper execution of preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment failures and downtime.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or emergencies, ensuring rapid troubleshooting and resolution.
• Review and approve completed work orders to ensure quality and accuracy of maintenance activities.

2.  Leadership and Team Management

• Supervise and guide the maintenance technician team to execute daily tasks effectively and efficiently.
• Assign work orders and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities, with a focus on minimizing production disruptions.
• Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and support skill development through training and mentorship.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment while maintaining a strong focus on accountability and results.

3.  Equipment Reliability and Improvement

• Monitor the condition and performance of machinery and equipment, identifying areas for improvement.
• Work closely with technicians to identify root causes of recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Suggest and oversee the implementation of upgrades or modifications to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.

4.  Communication and Collaboration

• Communicate effectively with the Maintenance Manager to align team priorities with production goals.
• Collaborate with production supervisors and operators to address operational needs and minimize downtime.
• Maintain clear documentation of maintenance activities and provide regular updates to management.

5.  Safety and Compliance

• Enforce adherence to safety protocols and ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in a safe manner.
• Conduct safety inspections and address potential hazards promptly.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards related to maintenance and safety.

6.  Inventory and Spare Parts Management

• Coordinate with the Maintenance Planner and Store Officer to ensure necessary parts and tools are available for timely repairs.
• Monitor usage of spare parts and suggest reorder levels to avoid stockouts.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a food production or manufacturing environment.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience is highly desirable.
• Strong technical knowledge of production machinery and maintenance practices.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve operational goals.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly under time constraints.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate across teams.
• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems for tracking maintenance activities.
• Strong commitment to people safety, food safety and regulatory compliance.
